Hey there! Just a week ago, MYStartup x Elevate hosted an awesome 30-Hour Challenge from November 21st to 23rd, 2023 at Sandbox, Kementerian Sains Teknologi & Inovasi (KSTI). Super excited to share that we had 17 teams and 47 participants dive into this event with us. The main goal? To boost awareness and growth in the tech startup scene, all about fostering innovation and creative problem-solving. Our theme was “Sustainable Smart City” – as defined by UNECE – covering cool categories like smart resource management, efficient mobility, and urban agriculture.
Day one kicked off with registrations and participants grabbing some cool stuff – woven bags, a snazzy 30 Hour Challenge T-shirt, lanyards, and pamphlets introducing our products. We mixed things up with an ice-breaking Kahoot session, followed by a Figma Prototype workshop led by the awesome Coach Angell. In the afternoon, Coach Zazila stepped in to guide participants through a fun session on design thinking.
Day two started with a bang – an opening ceremony by our Founder & Executive Director, Ms. Faezrah Rizalman. We also had mentors from UMS, Agri Data, Elty House, and BruttiBesi giving great advice to our challengers, prepping them to provide with good prototype.
Day three continued with a mentor session featuring BruttiBesi, where they guided our challengers on effective pitching strategies for the upcoming pitching session. Next is the highlight! Participants pitched their hearts out to judges, Mr. Ahmad Hafeezi from Kinabalu Coders, Mr. Mazrie Mahat from Synsoft, and our very own Ms. Faezrah Rizalman from Elevate. After the pitching, the closing ceremony was hosted by the fantastic Mr. Mohd Noor Hisham, Head of Mystartup Malaysia. And then, of course, all challengers headed over to check into Megah D’Aru hotel for a well-deserved break.
Day four begins with opening remarks from the Head of MYStartup, Mohd Noor Hisham and hosted by distinguished emcee, Ben Uzair. It then proceeds with a few forum joined by prominent figures from SCENIC, Agridata Portal, Learning Tigers, Cradle Fund, MYStartup Dev, UMS, Carching, BruttiBesi, CoreHalal and our esteemed Founder & Executive Director, Ms. Faezrah Rizalman as the panel for each sessions.
The MYStartup Next Sabah Chapter was closed by Mr. Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke, who is now the Group CEO of Cradle Fund Sdn. Bhd., and inaugurated by YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI). Furthermore, after the inauguration ceremony, the winners of the MYStartup x Elevate: 30-Hour Challenge were announced.
