Back-end development
You’ll gain a thorough understanding of Ruby basics before getting comfortable with object-oriented programming and storing information in databases using SQL and Object Relational Mappers.
Web development foundation
You'll learn how the internet works with HTTP and master the fundamentals of web programming with Sinatra, along with HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap 5.
Front-end Development
Understand JavaScript fundamental concepts and learn ES6, your second programming language after Ruby, to add dynamic behaviours to your applications, as well as Hotwire, the HTML-over-the-wire concept, as an alternative approach to building modern web applications.
Capstone Project
The programme concludes with a large-scale project, which begins with a project concept guided by your instructor. You'll receive plenty of instructor feedback along the way while diving deep into the various advanced technologies needed to bring your concepts to life.

Requirements

Career Outcomes
Those who complete the programme can qualify for many different roles, including, but not limited to:
Software Developer
Specialises in the coding, design, and layout of web applications through graphic design and computer programming. Well-versed in both front- and back-end web technologies, these individuals are also called 'full stack' developers.
Back-End Developer
Responsible for the server-side web application logic, focusing on how the site works and communicates with external databases. Back-end developers ensure that a web page functions properly behind the scenes so the user side—what you see on the screen—works as intended.
Front-End Developer
Concerned with the user-side of a web page, determining the structure and design as well as ensuring optimal performance across devices. These web development professionals essentially create anything you view on your desktop or mobile screen, like colours, fonts, and page layouts.
QA Engineer
Plans, assesses, and tests the quality of technical deliverables and ensures timely, actionable feedback within teams. If there are issues or errors with a piece of software, QA engineers identify and analyse bugs for their respective development teams to be aware of.

Faezrah Rizalman
Main Instructor | Programmer
With 10 plus years of experience in tech and software development, she has won the APEC 2019 (Chile) - Digital Prosperity Award and also a finalist in the Women in Tech APAC 2023 - Most Disruptive Award, powered by AWS.
In her 10 plus years of experience, she has become a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Chief Technology Officer and eventually founded Rambutan Code Academy, the first coding school in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah which later became the renowned Elevate Academy of Technology & Innovation.
She has not only established herself in her technical skill but also possesses great management and leadership skills.
